It takes about one hour to travel by air from Sydney
to Armidale. Qantaslink operates 60 flights per week
between Armidale and Sydney using fully pressurised
Dash 8 (50-seat) aircraft.
Armidale Regional Airport has a modern airport terminal,
free car parking and is located only a few minutes from
the Armidale CBD. The airport has a petrol station and
is home to a number of aviation businesses including
Armidale Airways, Fleet Helicopters, Super-Air, Edwards
Aviation VIP Jet Charter and others.
Armidale is serviced by major road and air freight service
providers including Toll Holdings, Australian Air Express,
TNT Freight as well as other local and regional freight
operators.
Freight operators provide overnight freight services
between Sydney, Brisbane and Newcastle as well as many
regional destinations including towns within the New
England North West region of NSW and the coast.
Armidale has a number of major coach services operating
enroute to and from Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne, inland
and coastal NSW. Buses provide urban transport within
Armidale and to / from the University of New England.
Armidale has a daily Countrylink XPT Service to / from
Sydney. The Railway Station is located on the fringe of
the Armidale CBD.
